You sure are growing up too fast. All I can do is stand back  & watch you and make sure I am there at moments when you need me the most.

Morning bliss

It's bliss waking up to this sight on a lazy Saturday morning. You are such an adorable baby, Lulu. I can't wait to see what you'll grow up to be!
At 1 and 4 months, we can have conversations with you as you answer in short intelligible phrases. Your comprehension is amazing as you can identify and name  the objects and the people around you.

There is no dull moment with you. In fact, the only time you are quiet is when you are asleep. :)

At this time, you are the center  of the universe at home. Your lolo, lola, tito, tita  always try to get on your good side by playing with you or bringing you pasalubong whenever they come home. You are gracious and reward their efforts with your sweet and charming paglalambing. I feel so proud that you are such a lovable child.

I thank the Lord, everyday, for giving you to us. You are really a wonderful blessing.

More growing up!

Dear Lulu,
This summer your doing a lot of growing up.

You have started stacking blocks now. You used to love  just toppling them over but you can stack six blocks now! :)
You continue to be curious and you love to experiment with the things around you.
One thing is certain this summer, you love swimming and playing in the water!

On top of that, you have started answering with 1 or 2 words whenever we ask you something. You also repeat words that you hear. I am amazed by your comprehension and vocabulary at 1 Year and 4 months.

You give us so much joy! :)

In a constant state of wonderment

Dear Lulu,
At 1 year and 4 months you are already a book worm! I love how you demand to have a book read to you every chance you get. You  love the rhymes of Dr. Seuss but you also love listening to "Ang mga kwento ni lola Basyang".

You are so into words that you surprised as all when we found out you had already memorized the 30 words we put up on tyour wall! You not only know how they sound, you also know what they mean!
Recently, one of my classmates,Pola, asked if she could assess you as part of the Developmental Psych course she was taking. We made sure it wasn't going to be stressful for you before we said yes.  More than anything, we were curious as to the level of your ability, actually. You continually amaze me with what you can do, what you can say and how interactive you are to your environment.
Although we promised we would never impose our expectations on you, which includes stress-inducing tests, we figured getting information about you would not hurt as long as we would not base our affection and regard for you on the results of any test you take.
Anyway, it seems that you were up for anything as usual. Even in a new and strange environment, you were undeterred in satisfying your curiosity. It seemed the performance lab heightened your natural inquisitiveness as you   went through the test and explored the room decorated with already-familiar images.
Tita Pola gave you gifts of appreciation which you certainly loved: a vintage Dr. Seuss book, a Disney Junior workbook and chocolates. All in a day's work. Lulubear!

I will be informed of the results next week. I  a bit excited because I already know you did well. Nevertheless, whatever the results may be, I am already proud of you.

You make me happy every single day we are together.  Ever since you entered out lives, there has been no dull day.

And truly, everyday is a Luluadventure day!

Children of summer

It's summer again- that wonderful time of the year when the sky is ultra blue. The earth is sun-kissed, and days are filled with a promise of adventure.

Last year, you and I were shut up in the house but this year.. This year we start on the lifetime adventure of growing up.

I'm so lucky that you are such a no-fuss baby! I can take you anywhere and you will be equally excited whether it be a short car ride or a 1 hour trek in the great outdoors.

You're such a go-getter, you're fearless! You meet the waves crashing on the shore, you try to leap onto the cold water of a  waterfall, you brave discomfort and the heat just to indulge your endless curiosity about your surroundings

It brings me so much joy to see you squealing with excitement as you explore each new sensation that your adventures make available for you.
I can't wait for the weeks, months and years we will spend journeying through a lifetime of adventure.

Oh Lulu, this early, you make your momma proud! <3
